Abstract

Industrial Revolution 4.0 is present as an inevitability of the history of mankind which must not be avoided. The Industrial Revolution 4.0 is a technological revolution that fundamentally changes the way of life, how to work, and how to connect to one another. In its scale, scope and complexity, the transformation of life no longer occurs as it has been experienced by humans before. However, the progress of science and technology (science and technology) always has two faces. One face looks friendly, providing convenience and speed for the life of mankind. But behind its friendliness, advances in science and technology often erode humans and humanity. The advancement of science and technology in the Industrial Revolution era 4.0 was even more sophisticated and astonishing, but without realizing it, this progress actually negates humanity and humanity. Humans and humanity are increasingly threatened with exclusion from modern life. The Industrial Revolution 4.0 is not only experienced by foreign communities, but also by Indonesians, even in the most remote and outermost corners of the country, as long as the arena is connected to internet hotspots. So, activating character education is very important to fortify the Indonesian nation from the enormity of the influence of the advancement of science and technology. Schools must work together with families and communities to prepare the best generation in the face of the Industrial Revolution 4.0. Because, building character is not enough to be implemented by schools, but must be with other stakeholders. Particularly in the face of the Industrial Revolution 4.0, schools need to develop more specific curricula so that all advances in science and technology provide more value, not even destroy humans and humanity.
