Abstract

Instilling positive character in elementary school age children requires more attention. Bearing in mind, the challenges in the digital age are certainly having an impact, both positive and negative impacts. Anticipating the negative impacts of the challenges of the digital age can be done through strengthening character education. Digital technology as an example of smartphone has a negative impact in the form of individualism for its users. Therefore it is necessary to strengthen the character of mutual cooperation in anticipation of the negative impacts of developments in the digital age. One strategy for strengthening the character of mutual cooperation can be done by elementary school teachers through the implementation of the traditional Gobak Sodor game. The Gobak Sodor game is a traditional game that is played as a team. This game requires cohesiveness, in the form of mutual cooperation to win the game. The value that can be drawn from the implementation of the traditional Gobak Sodor game is that children become accustomed to helping one another and work together in facing each problem and difficulty. Through togetherness of course every work will be lighter and faster resolved.
