Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine that parental motivation is very influential on student achievement and discipline in the Ekakapti of Maos District, Cilacap Regency in 2019/2020. Data collection techniques are a method used by researchers to obtain data in a study. In this study, researchers chose the type of qualitative research ethnographic studies. Data acquisition activities are carried out in the context of real-life events. There are no specific treatments for both the research subject and the context in which the research was conducted. The researcher not only understands the case from the outside, but also from the inside as a complete and detailed entity. Data collection techniques obtained through in-depth interviews about the curriculum vitae of research objects. In addition research data collection techniques are also obtained through documentation, direct observation, participant observation, and physical artifacts. Based on the results of the study it can be concluded that the motivation of parents is very influential on student achievement and discipline character, this is indicated by the results of interviews that students generally claim that their parents' motivation is very high in fostering their children. The current learning achievements obtained on average are caused by the motivation of parents so that students are encouraged to carry out learning achievement support activities. There is a positive and significant influence between parents' motivation on learning achievement because students who are motivated by parents will have high learning enthusiasm so that they are not easily discouraged.
