Abstract

Every year the East Sumba produces peanuts, and the potential for developing commodities peanuts in the foreseeable future. Peanut farming as a business opportunity has pods fresh or processed peanuts as snacks. This activity is research on the location of airy dry land area of rainwater in East Sumba Regency; East Nusa Tenggara province on the planting season February-June 2015 according to the model of "research involving 30 people (farmers, indigenous leaders, extension officers) proactively" and participatory approach to research (Participatory Rural Appraisa/PRA) the analysis of response analysis and tabulations (preferences). Research results concluded that: 1) Farmers need to use seed/crop production to improve quality of food; 2) local wisdom community that supports increased production needs to be maintained and synergize with the culture of innovation with the development of new farming peanuts and corn; 3 Customs and Community Leaders) East Sumba necessary training guidelines on the management of technology peanut and maize on dry land; 4) local governments and leaders of indigenous peoples there needs to be ongoing communication access, and adopted new innovation food crops.
