Abstract
The number of children with autism in Indonesia continues to increase every year. The progress of therapy requires collaboration between therapists and parents. Parents are expected to carry out therapist's suggestions when the child is at home. The purpose of this study is to determine what parents do in the house to support the success of therapy. This research uses observation and semistructured interview methods in data collection. The informants of this study were five parents of ASD children. The results showed that parents tried applying the therapy, especially to improve gross and fine motor skills. Some parents apply a diet to their children. In communicating with children, parents make repetitions in giving orders so that children easily understand the intentions to convey. Practices done by parents at home to support the successful treatment of children with ASD include gross and fine motor exercises, communication exercises, and adopting diet.
