Abstract

Remarriage carried out after the divorce will create some psychological problems to children, especially in adolescents, because they are still in a transition period. Previous research on remarriage, concluded that there was a conflict-filled relationship. This study aims to examine psychological well being in adolescents with remarriage parents based on their dimensions. This research is a qualitative research with phenomenological approach. Method of collecting data by using interview method. Participants in this study were one adolscents girl the other one is a boy. The results of this study were, a girl participant who is from remarriage parents lived with biological father and stepmother have a better psychological well being than a boy participant who lives with his biological mother and stepfather. This difference is based on the achievement of the psychological well being’s dimensions. Other findings are that gender and support of biological parent are factors that influence psychological well being in adolescents with remarriage parents.
