Abstract

People suffering from schizophrenia definitely need support from others, more importantly families. Not only Schizophrenia has an extraordinary effect on him, but also on the relatives or family caregiver. This study aims to explore resilience between caregivers for people and schizophrenia. This study also aims to help family caregivers find strength in dealing with problems. The research method uses in this study is qualitative methods by using study approach. Participants in this study were two family caregivers who treated their family members as schizophrenics for a minimum of three years. The Determination of participants done by using purposive sampling technique. Data collection techniques were taken by interviews. The results showed that each family caregiver for people with schizophrenia was different in achieving resilience. The difference is in the length of process, support from the neighborhood and social environment.
