Abstract

This research was conducted to examine the process of strengthening the character education of nationalism in Al Irsyad Al Islamiyyah Elementary School 02 Purwokerto. Nationalism is currently one of the character education mandated by the law to be implemented in everyday life as a citizen. Social studies is one of the materials in thematic learning that can be used to foster and strengthen nationalism character education. This research comprehensively uses four main dimensions in social studies learning to be internalized in the attitude of children's nationalism, namely the dimension of knowledge, skills dimension, values and attitudes and action dimensions. The results of the study prove that the four dimensions are able to provide satisfying results in the process of growing and strengthening the character of students, especially at Al Irsyad Al Islamiyyah 02 Purwokerto Elementary School.
