Abstract

Background of study: workng stress is part of nursing activities. This was caused by many things, and one of them is high working time. It makes the differences to the working performance. One way to overcome this matter is providing music therapy. Aim of the research: to observe the effectiveness of music therapy to the reduction of working strees in Emergency department RSUD Dr. R. Goeteng Taroenadibrata Purbalingga. Method: this research applied pre experimental design through one group pretest-post test method. Total sampling was used as a sampling technique consisted of 23 people. For analyzing the data, the researcher run paired simple t test. Research result: there was significant difference to the nursing before and after getting classic musical, with the mean before getting treatment was 33 and SD= 6.749 and with the mean 28.35 and SD= 6.642 after getting treatment. With p value = 0.000 and α= 0.05 Conclusion: music therapy was effective method to reduce working stress in emergency department RSUD Dr. R. Goeteng Taroenadibrata with size effect= 5.594.
