Abstract

Wlahar village is one of villages at Banyumas regency that has traditional bio-ethanol industry. They produce bio-ethanol 40-50% (ciu). But, the production of bio-ethanol is still not legal, because there is no permission letters from the government and the product is used as alcoholic drink. The aims of the study are to know the process of bio-ethanol production to get bio-ethanol 90% at minimum with low cost, the market of bio-ethanol product and the allowances from the government. The result of the study show that traditional bio-ethanol industry can produce bio-ethanol 90% by using natural zeolite as adsorbent. The markets of bio-ethanol are industrial fields, pharmaceutical industry, and hospitals. The permission letters from government are TDI, TDP and SIUP.
