Abstract
Boiling point of solution (bubble point) can be predicted by thermodynamis data with equation of state. The goal of this research are to: (1) study of kinds of equation of state to predict boiling point ethanol-water solution, (2) know the correlation of concentration, temperature and pressure with boiling point, and (3) make a program that can be used to predict boiling point by Q-Basic. This research is done by four steps, make a simulation program to predict boiling point of ethanol-water solution, laboratory data of boiling point ethanol-water, analysis data to compare the laboratory data with simulation data, and simulation for other condition. The results of the research are: (1) equation of state can be used predict boiling point ethanol water solution. The simulation shows that Redlich-Kwong-Soave is more accurate than the other, (2) At constant pressure, boiling temperature will increase if concentration increase, and at the same concentration, boiling temperature will increase if pressure increase, (3) Q-Basic can be used to make simulation program to predict boiling point of ethanol-water solution.
