Abstract

This research aimed to study the effect of gending- therapeutic in decreasing patient's depretion pasca stroke of Banyumas Public Hospital. The hypothesis was: gending therapy is effective for decreasing depression of pasca stroke patients. This research is using experimental methodology involved twelve pasca stroke patients were divided in four groups, the first was given gending therapy and anti-depression medicine; the second was given gending therapy, the third was given anti depression medicine and fourth didn't get any treatment. To detect the depression Back Depression Inventory (BDI) was used. The result shows that gending therapy and anti-depression medicine treatment, the gending therapy treatment, and anti depression medicine treatment was effected to reduce the depression (19,4 point; 12,9 point and 4,3 point). The group who was untreated their depression increased 4.3 point. According to Kruskall Wallis test the decreasing BDI score was significant on the 5% level with chi square test value are 10,458 and probability value are 0,015. Finally, in the gending Banyumasan Group has decreased BDI score by 12,9 point and there is decreasing manifestation of depression symptom expression quickly, dominant at emotional aspect, and just be followed attitude, motivational, cognitive and vegetative aspects.
