Abstract

Problem solving means finding a way to get out of a problem and achieve a goal that sometimes we do not understand its shape. Therefore, it is necessary to do research on what happens when someone seeks a way out of that difficulty. This case study involved two people as research data sources..The result of this study is that the initial problem solving process for Polya adults shows that at first understanding the problem, they did it in their own minds. But when one method is tried does not produce the desired solution, the early adult individual will reframe the problem in his own way and visual awareness when reframing the problem is very useful when someone tries to solve the problem. So that at the stage of implementing the plan, they will come up with ideas that they think can solve the problem and new ideas will emerge when the previous idea is deadlocked. Thus, it will be easier for the problem solver if he rearranges the problem in his own way. At the stage of looking back, early adult individuals will show that solutions to previous problems can be applied in other related problems which means that someone in early adulthood can use analogies in problem solving. As we have seen before, that someone in early adulthood tends to be in two or more forms of the general thought process when solving problems and, they involve the process of thinking internal interpretations, beliefs without evidence, but they are not seen in the process of thinking daydreaming.
